Buddies is proud to introduce you to a devastatingly funny and intelligent young writer/performer, Mark Shyzer, in his multi-character comedic tour-de-force, Fishbowl: a concise, expansive theory of everything. Hilariously biting yet hopeful, Fishbowl is a collision of quantum physics and cutting social satire. Buddies Associate Artist and Young Creators' Unit Programme Director, Evalyn Parry (Independent Aunties) brings her sharp comedic talent and indie theatre savvy to the development and staging of this exciting new production
Five heartbreakingly funny characters in search of meaning and connection make an unexpected collision in the dark. A nerdy high school science genius; a pregnant jazzercise instructor; a caustic teenaged hipster at war with his parents; a martini-slurping middle-age barfly, going nowhere fast; and a retired physics teacher, stuck in an old age home who finds himself flipping in and out of his past and present with alarming speed.
Fishbowl was developed through Buddies' Young Creators' Unit and presented as part of our 2008 Rhubarb Festival to resoundingly delighted audience response. Buddies is proud to present yet another Youth Programme-developed work as part of its 2008/09 Season.
